Now that the Scrappy Christmas Quilt is finished, it’s time to turn my attention to the next Twelve Months of Christmas project.
It’s not a new project, but one I started last year with the hope that it would be finished in time to be given as a gift, but it wasn’t finished. So, this year I’m going to try again but obviously I’m starting a lot earlier which (hopefully) means it will be a gift for someone this Christmas!
What is it? Cross-stitch’
My inspiration for the project was a Noah’s Ark bookmark I made for myself from a Cross Country Stitching leaflet called Potpourri of Page Pointers.


It was stitched on 14count 2 ½” Bandaida and backed with felt. The bookmark is well-used which inspired me to start another as a gift.
The chart I chose is Count Your Many Blessings and I’m stitching on the same 14 count Bandaida I used for the Noah’s Ark bookmark.

I didn’t get very far and have set myself the goal of having it finished by the end of April. It will be put aside for Christmas when it will be wrapped up and put under the tree with a friend’s name on it.
Counting Your Blessings…
I woke up this morning with a newsreel running through my head of all the trials and challenges I’ve had to face in the last couple of years. I could feel my mind starting to wander down that rabbit hole when I realised that the ‘newsreel’ didn’t include one of the good things that God did during that time. For each of those circumstances I could make a long list of how God provided, blessed, and delivered me. Immediately, my thoughts switched from leading me down a path of self-pity to one of awe and gratitude.
Joyce Meyer often talks about having an ‘attitude of gratitude’ and to look for blessings in every situation and give thanks for those because it will change your day. She’s right. Give it a try.
“…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is praiseworthy – think about such things.” (Php 4:8)
